Kathleen Dawson, Physical Therapist (DPT)

Kathleen Dawson, Physical Therapist (DPT), joined Excel Rehabilitation in August 2020.

Specialties

Kathleen specializes in treating orthopedic and sports related injuries utilizing her knowledge of therapeutic exercise and manual therapy. She specifically treats complex knee and shoulder injuries, lower/upper extremity joint replacements, sports related injuries, degenerative disc disease and other spine diagnoses, and has experience working with pediatric patients for many orthopaedic diagnoses.

Education

Kathleen graduated from James Madison University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences/Pre-Physical Therapy. She then received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Methodist University in 2019. Through her education and previous clinical practice, Kathleen brings knowledge and experience with the treatment of sports related repetitive stress injuries, ligamentous injuries of the knee and ankle, total joint replacements, femeroacetabular impingement/hip labral tears, postural abnormalities, and low back pain. Kathleen was a competitive tennis player while in high school and continued to compete on JMU’s club team while in attendance there. She currently enjoys spending time with family and her dog Dudley, hiking, and spending time at the beach.

Kathleen currently practices out of our Fairfax office.
